Hmmm....

Well never good to post a demo :( and I didn't get to kill Sylvester McCoy I know it is coming in full game but would have been the only thing to save this from being dull.

tsmatthew responds:

well you'll be happy to know that Sylvester gets one of the most gruesome 8 bit deaths ever. if you remember from the old series he is shot and then his heart explodes.

Low but fair

As someone that does a fair amount of 3D stuff I can see that you are getting to grips with some of the fundamentals of 3Ds Max as you say "A Beginner's Portfolio". I think there comes a time though where you have to stop thinking about the effects and more about the content of the work, displace maps and reflective renders only go so far. I don't think anything in there is 'Really' bad but also there was nothing that stood out as 'new'. I think I spotted a few bits from tutorials and nothing wrong with that I always say to do as many as you can over and over to everyone. Well enough about that if you would like some pointers on 3D send me a message. My score may look low but I think it is fair :)

Mariofan9 responds:

A few bits from tutorials? Nope, nothing, actually. Thanks for your review, but I can make little of it except discouragement.

Oh so bad...

It is like a 1980's really bad corporate promo and the music *shudder* Is like the stuff you used to get on collage enrolment videos. The game engine is clunky and the steering is more super tanker than bus. I've been on a Megabus and I 'know' they can turn a damn sight sharper than that.

All in all a bad promo looking to see a click count :(

No stars for you...

willcheng responds:

Thanks for the review. Sorry it wasn't for you. Of course a huge amount of work has gone into creating a multiplayer game with a choice of routes. The sound is easy to switch off if it doesn't work and we're pleased to have created a racing game with a big difference, i.e stopping to collect passengers. Would welcome more reviews. We try to respond to them all.

Grrrr....

Damn it! Why do none of your games fit the window size?!?!?!

CasualCollective responds:

thanks, fixed it

Snufkin YAY!!!

Great idea for a puzzle game. Music wasn't so hot so happy I could turn it down...

GameBalance responds:

Well hard to find music that will fit game and most ppl be happy with it. However personally i found this to be fit with a game and doesn't brake copy laws.

Nice...

Can't say I have done it yet (Stuck on number lock thing) but it is nice and had me jump a few times.

Only thing is I get a big black bit where the books were after reading them :( I have to exit and re-enter the room to get rid of them.

sober-joe responds:

huh? i'll have to check that out...
Thanks for playing though!
UPDATE: Oh, haha, that's just the back of the book! Click it, and it will take you to the previous page! LOL

A Good Start

Nice framework for a game. I'm a fan of tower games and have thought about making one myself. Some things to work on though,

Towers.
Pivot on one corner, looks like you went for a sort of 3D with them but as they rotate it sort of doesn't work and in placing them you get a lot of overlap

Animation on the enemies.
Some had what looked like flames and tentacles but all were static would be nice to see them move.

The map.
Some bits too thin looks like you can't place turrets you can but looks odd, some bits thick but hard to work out how much space you have to place turrets.

I hope you don't give up on this though and tweak it to get out all the rough bits... you got further than I ever did making one.

Good luck on the next.

lilgod responds:

Cheers this really helped me i probably won't give up but ill keep tweaking it i think until i get it to perfection :Þ

Like it :D

A new twist on an old format... Looks like a really good start to build on I really hope you get the time you need to work on it and will be keeping an eye out to see how it goes.

Bratchan responds:

Thankies ^.^ Hopefully i catch up and get ahead of my work so i cna concentrate on my final game!

I really liked this...

A great little game well made, fitting music and sound fx. Nice to play something that someone has taken the time to put a story in too.

Didilidou responds:

Thanks :3 I was going to make the story even better from the begining, but i didnt have time since it was originally a projekt for uni!

A Shame...

Really nice game, nice idea and some rally cool stuff... But and it is a very big one. YOU WANT REAL MONEY!!! if you realy want to do anything good in game.

Tokens

A token is a monetary unit that is bought by users using real life currency, through the Edgebee Arcade Portal website. They can be spent in-game on various actions. Each game defines how tokens are spent and which actions require them and how much.

It allows access to special content that only paying users may see and use. Sometimes even giving them advantages in the games.

It is the basis of the business model.

You get 50 for signing up but looks like even basic stuff cost 100 and up... Well while there is beer on this earth you will not see a penny of my cash.

Edgebee responds:

The game can easily be played to completion freely. Our model is not even close to what you describe, you can do pretty much everything without ever shelling out real money.
